The tradition of Hinamatsuri in Japan dates back to the Heian period, and is still celebrated today as we wish our community’s children good health, luck, and prosperity.
Despite the moniker of Girl’s Day, all SFVJLI students and their parents are invited to join in on the festivities. Students are invited to wear their favorite Japanese attire, including kimono and happi, participate in crafts, and enjoy the traditional Hina Ningyo doll display representing the Japanese royal court.
