“Room Parents”

Each classroom needs at least one room parent (mother or father) who can contact all the parents in the classroom to relay messages from the teacher and/or the PTA. The job includes recruiting some volunteers for special events throughout the year, such as the yard sale and holiday program. Some teachers ask parents to assist in the classroom or ask that school supplies be donated. It is also suggested that the room parent collect donations to purchase a holiday gift for the class teacher to show the class's appreciation.
