On September 24th, during 4th period, the J3, J4, Advanced and Teen classes were entertained by Ms. Yuriko Muso, a member of Mimi Bunko group and Mrs. Shimomura, the head of the Hana Ikada group in Kobe, Japan.
Ms. Muso read a story about a girl named Kaori who had a runaway imagination. She was home alone with her dog when it started raining and turned on all the lights. She apparently overloaded the electrical circuits and her apartment lost power. She tried to call her mother at work, but she was not there. She thought a ghost was coming into the apartment when her mother came home early because she was worried about Kaori. Mrs. Shimomura read a story about a girl that spent a day at the Aquarium with the Dolphins. She got to help feed the Dolphins and train them. By the end of the day, she felt she was able to communicate with the Dolphins. We, as humans, need to be aware of the feelings and reactions to the people we come into contact with daily to see how they are feeling that day. At the end of the presentation, Mrs. Shimomura donated a Japanese picture book and tape to our school. Thank you very much Ms. Muto and Mrs. Shimomura for reading to our older students.
