On May 7th SFVJLI celebrated Children’s Day by going to Woodley Park for an Undo Kai and Picnic. Caudill sensei and Ueda sensei were in charge of the event.  Thanks to Hal Suetsugu, former SFVJACC President, we were able to obtain 2 school busses to transport the kids, staff and parents to the park.  The Hagiwara family went to the park at 7:00 AM and staked out the spot for the event.  Kana Shimizu picked up the Obento orders and Kaori Matsubara provided the frozen snacks after lunch.

It looked like we had quiet a few parents and grandparents that came to the park for the event.  Mrs. Inoue, former Nyumon teacher, and her family were also there.  Did you have fun trying to pick off a donut from the poles without using your hands?  The mothers and fathers were given a challenge by having to run further to get their donuts. I have never worked so hard for a donut.   Hope everyone had fun.
