SPEECH CONTEST

The speech contest will be held on June 21st. Students will prepare a draft and start practicing for the upcoming contest soon. There have been some cases in the past in which parents helped too much by composing stories for students, perhaps because they thought it would be too difficult for them to create sentences in Japanese. For example, we’ve seen a speech by an 8-year-old student that ended up being a high school student level. The purpose of this contest is for the students to perform to their best ability based on their level and what they’ve learned over the years, not to show off a perfect performance to amaze audience. If you try to help, please do not write the speech for them, but give them your support to bring out best of their ability. If you have any questions about the contest, please ask the class teacher.
