After a very cold winter, the warm spring season is almost here. We are looking forward to celebrating Girl’s Day (Hina-matsuri) on March 1st.
This year’s program by the students includes a presentation about the history of Hina-matsuri, song “Ureshii Hinamatsuri” and two Kamishibai performances, “The Glove” and “The Boy and the Raccoon.” Kamishibai (paper drama) is an ancient form of Japanese storytelling in which the narrator uses pictures to help convey the story. The festivities will take place from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the community center gym.
If you have a yukata or a kimono, please bring it to wear for the festival. All parents are welcome.
