WELCOME FORUM

On October 7th, SFVJLI held its yearly welcome forum for new and returning parents. This gave all of the parents the opportunity to meet with the Senseis that educate their children every Saturday. Review of all educational materials, such as books, worksheets and flip charts, were discussed. Even the educational philosophy of the Sensei was discussed. It was very positive to know that the leadership signals of the sensei and the support from the parents would provide an atmosphere here at school in which the students can thrive in their quest for education and cultural experiences. After the meeting with the Sensei, all of the parents were introduced to the PTA Board members and volunteers. Policy and safety rules were discussed so that each family understood the yearly obligations; Obon, Kurimanju fundraisers, yard sale, and CC Clean Up were brought to their attention. Tuition due dates, books and material fees were also discussed. We concluded the meeting with coffee and goodies to wrap up the meeting. As always, the PTA Board is constantly looking for dedicated parents to volunteer their time and expertise. All comments and suggestions are welcome.
