(By Yoshiko Kawada, PTA President)
Welcome to the 2006-2007 school year at the San Fernando Valley Japanese Language Institute (SFVJLI). One of the best ways to keep in touch with our youth is by getting involved with their school. Over the years, my family has benefited greatly from being a part of the SFVJLI family. I take this opportunity to invite you to become a volunteer at SFVJLI to enrich your life and enhance your child’s school experience. We can make that experience much better for all students through your ideas and support.
Listed below are some of many involvement opportunities.
·The Entertainment Book sale (until December 16)
·Yard Sale (November 4 and April 14)
·Kurimanju (March 10)
·Obon Festival (July)
SFVJLI has been around since 1933. For 83 years, one thing has not changed: our school is run by the parents! Some of you may think it is only the Saturday school, but there are so many things to be done to run the school efficiently. I am looking forward to meeting each one of you during this school year.
Thank you,
